The final stage of the circle of a handball life, recreational handball, helps those aged 65 and above to continue in the sport. The slogan for stage 7 is “be active for life!” and in reality anyone of any age could participate in recreational handball.
By this stage playing forms include walking handball as well as Goalcha five-a-side and the focus is on participation. Beach handball can be simplified for recreational players as well.
Recreational handball is designed to help players maintain an active lifestyle or minimise any physical problems they might have, helping with coordination, balance, mobility, strength, aerobic endurance and reducing the chances of falling.
