“Be relentless!” is the slogan for stage 6 of the circle of handball life, master handball. The aim of this stage is to encourage players aged between 45 and 65 years to move from the highly competitive arena to become lifelong sportspeople.
Master handball can be played as Goalcha five-a-side handball, for instance, while sand in beach handball would reduce injuries sustained by falling.
It can be mentally and physically beneficial to continue sport at this age. Master handballers can benefit from being a mentor to others, or simply by participating at a recreational level.
Continued strength exercise can help maintain form and function for longer in life by continuing to build muscle and flexibility, and the endurance aspect of handball helps maintain a healthy cardiovascular system later in life.
