Turnover battle decides dramatic first leg in Kosovo
Only one goal separates KH Kastrioti and RK Sloboda after a thrilling first leg on Saturday. The visitors from Bosnia and Herzegovina had the better start, leading 1:5 after four minutes and 3:11 after 13 minutes. In the second part of the first half, the home side led by top-scorer Deniz Terziqi fought back and closed the gap to two at half-time (14:16).
RK Sloboda defended their lead until minute 51 (25:25), as their 6:3 turnover deficit in the 20 minutes after the break came back to haunt them. The home side survived a two-minute suspension for Terziqi unharmed, as RK Sloboda only hit the post and turned the ball over once more. Alessander Antonio Santos and Vlerson Zherka delivered their team’s first three-goal-lead of the day after 58 minutes and put the closing touches on this first leg. In the end, the visitors cut their disadvantage to one, which promises an exciting return leg in Tuzla next Sunday.
