A few notable facts from tonight - Greece's qualification is their first-ever for a Women's EHF EURO final tournament. Iceland have made it to back-to-back tournaments for the second time ever. The Netherlands' huge 47:12 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina was their biggest-ever EHF EURO Qualifiers win, and they kept Bosnia to their lowest number of goals ever as well. 47 goals was also the highest total for any team in the EHF EURO 2026 Qualifiers.

Belgium's Nele Antonissen was the top scorer of the Qualifiers, with 58 goals in six matches.

Several teams celebrated their retiring players today with framed jerseys, flowers, hugs – and victories: Norwegian goalkeeper Katrine Lunde, Sweden’s Jamina Roberts and Nathalie Hagman, Montenegro’s Ivona Pavićević and Itana Grbić, Serbia’s Katarina Krpez-Slezák and Dragana Cvijic, Croatia’s Larissa Marković (née Kalaus), and Switzerland’s Kerstin Kündig. Thanks to every single one of these amazing players for all the memories, goals or saves, and legendary moments over the years. We will miss them all, especially at the EHF EURO 2026!

While those EHF EURO Qualifiers were going on, we had the final two games in the EHF EURO Cup group phase. Norway took a 38:19 win over Slovakia to remain undefeated in the tournament, while Romania beat Poland 38:34 away and will finish second in their group. They will now face Denmark in the EHF EURO Cup semi-finals, while Norway will take on Hungary later this year.

So, Austria and Serbia have booked their tickets to the final tournament with their victories tonight against Greece and Ukraine. 

Joining them will be the four best-ranked third-placed teams: Iceland, Ukraine, North Macedonia and Greece. Iceland are the only team with two points in the mini-table among the teams ranked third, while the other teams have a better goal difference than Finland and Italy, who also finished third.

So we're 10 minutes away from throw-off in all of today's games. 

The Highlight Match this round is Iceland vs Portugal, which will have English commentary on EHFTV. There will also be English commentary for Germany vs Belgium, and Lithuanian commentary for Sweden vs Lithuania.

When it comes to the two direct tickets available, here are the calculations - home sides Serbia and Austria are very much in the driving seats, and also won their reverse fixtures.

Group 5:
> Serbia qualify if they win, or tie, or lose by 11 goals or less
> Ukraine qualify if they win by 12 goals or more

Group 6:
> Austria qualify if they win, or tie, or lose by seven goals or less
> Greece qualify if they win by eight goals or more

Here's the first result of the day - Denmark have defeated Türkiye 39:22 in their EHF EURO Cup match. That means Denmark finish top of their group and Türkiye bottom. The Danes will go on to play in the EHF EURO Cup final tournament later this year.

It will be an emotional day for several stars of handball today. Norway's legendary goalkeeper Katrine Lunde and Swedish players Jamina Roberts and Nathalie Hagman are all playing their last-ever games for their national teams. Their impact on the sport cannot be underestimated but we're sure they will be properly farewelled by the fans in Kristiansand and Kolsta.

Switzerland's Kerstin Kündig will also be farewelled in Zürich, but is not actually playing today. The same goes for Montenegro's Ivona Pavićević and Itana Grbić in Podogorica.
