BIOGRAPHY
Christina Roslyng was born in central Denmark and started playing handball locally aged 11, quickly displaying talent and joining Horsens HK as a teenager. But her club career really took off when she moved to Viborg at the age of 19.
With Viborg, Roslyng won four Danish championships and the EHF Cup in 1999, beating Györ on aggregate in the European competition. Viborg were also runners-up in the EHF Champions League in 2001.
Between 2003 and 2007 Roslyng played for Kolding and SønderjyskE, but she finished her club career with a further year at Viborg, winning a fifth Danish championship while she was there.
Roslyng made her debut for the Danish national team in 1998 at the age of 20, and over 129 matches scored 299 goals. In her first year with the national squad Denmark won silver at the EHF EURO 1998, the start of a successful period which saw them add Olympic Games gold in 2000, EHF EURO gold in 2002, and a further EHF EURO silver medal in 2004.
Roslyng remains involved in handball; she has coached at Klakring IF and was part of the leadership team for Denmark between 2019 and 2023.
Although Roslyng is married to another handballer, Lars Christiansen, their eldest son Frederik is on the path to becoming a professional footballer.
